- Project Timeline: Projects must have been started after January 1st, 2023.
- Student-Driven: Your project must be driven by full-time students. This includes students working towards undergraduate, master’s, doctoral, and professional degrees (e.g., MBA, MD, etc.). Postdoc research projects are ineligible.
- Team Requirements: Teams must consist of more than one full-time student.
- Funding Limitation: Projects that have utilized significant funding (over $100K) are ineligible.

Simplified Rubric for Design Brief
Your submission will be evaluated based on a two-page design brief that follows a structured format. The design brief should be written for an audience of medtech engineers and designers and cover the following four key areas:

Clearly define the healthcare problem you’re addressing, provide the clinical background, and explain why a better solution is needed. - Solution Concept(s) (25%)
Present your proposed solution, including design rationale, and explain how it effectively meets the needs of stakeholders in your healthcare problem. - Reduction to Practice (25%)
Share your proof-of-concept results, prototypes, or renderings. Include experimental results or photos to demonstrate your solution’s feasibility. - Pathway to Implementation (25%)
Describe the next steps for your project and the path toward creating a tangible, impactful solution.
